Squinkies

For those that don't already know, Squinkies are miniature, squishy figures that are approx. 1.25 inches tall.  They are small enough to hold between two fingers which is just perfect for SQUISHING.  Each figure comes packaged in a round, plastic bubble because Squinkies are intentionally designed to look like toys that traditionally come out of toy vending machines.  

In fact, the bigger play sets even function like a vending machine.  Take the Squinkies Gumball Surprize Playhouse for example.  This set has a coin slot into which kids can insert the included plastic coin (a dime or penny works too).   Next, turn the dial to see a Squinkies ball roll out.  This toy actually mimicks the action of a real vending machine!  The Squinkies Gumball Surprize Playhouse comes with nine Squinkies figures in clear bubbles, but it can actually hold up to 28 balls allowing you to expand your collection.  Other vending machine play sets include: Squinkies Cupcake Surpise Bakeshop, Squinkies Twisters Teapot, and Squinkies Twisters Gumball.

Currently, there are over 500 different Squinkies figures.  Every figure fits one of the following character types: kitties, babies, friends, pets, puppies, and ponies.  Each Squinkies figure has its own number allowing kids to track their collection.  Kids can even create an account at the official Squinkies site to track their collection online.  Most packages include a collector's guide as well.  This collectability feature definitely contributes to the popularity of Squinkies.

The majority of the figures can be obtained from Squinkies Bubble Packs.   There are currently twelve different series of bubble packs.  Each of these packs contains 16 Squinkies in ball containers.   Twelve of the Squinkies figures come in clear plastic bubbles while the other four come in colored opaque balls.

I've done some research as to what each of the Squinkies Bubble Packs can contain for Series 1 through Series 9.  I still need to investigate 10, 11, and 12.  If your child is interested in collecting a particular type of Squinkies figure like babies or puppies, hopefully you will find this information helpful in knowing which Squinkies Bubble Packs to purchase.
 

For the Squinkies Kitties Collector

You are likely to get the most Kitties Squinkies by purchasing the Series 1 and Series 6 Bubble Packs; each of these series contains up to four Kitties Squinkies.  Series 4 contains up to three Kitties.  Series 2 and Series 3 contain two Kitties Squinkies.  Series 5 contains only one.  Series 7, 8, 9 contain no Kitties Squinkies at all.

You are likely to get the most Friends Squinkies by purchasing Series 5 and Series 6 Packs; these series contain up to four Friends Squinkies each.  Series 2, Series 3, and Series 4 contain up to three Friends.  Series 7, Series 8, and Series 9 contain two Friends Squinkies.  Series 1 contains only one.

None of this takes into account the rare, solid Squinkies.  The following four designs come in these five glittery colors.  Note that the Puppy is shown twice in different colors.  Blip Toys randomly assigns those across the different Series of Bubble Packs-- at least according to the guide on their website anyway.
